We are seeking a skilled and motivated UAS Site Lead to oversee the operations and management of our unmanned aircraft system at our Pendleton, Oregon site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient deployment of UAS, coordinating deconfliction, assist with planning and implementing flight missions and as the UAS Site Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality results while adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate flight missions and manage the scheduling of UAS operations to meet project deadlines and client requirements and Test site availability.
  • Oversee pre-flight and post-flight checks, ensuring that UAS are in optimal working condition and comply with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure UAS operations align with their objectives.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws governing UAS operations.
  • Monitor UAS performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Manage UAS maintenance schedules, coordinating with technical teams to ensure timely repairs and proper equipment functionality.
  • Contribute and maintain documentation related to UAS operations, including SOP’s, Pre/Post flight checklists, maintenance records, and safety procedures.
  • Provide periodic reports to management, highlighting project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in UAS technology, integrating new tools and techniques into operations where applicable.
  • Operate UAS in support of flight test as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in operating unmanned aircraft systems, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant UAS experience.
  • Previous leadership experience, managing a team of UAS operators or aviation personnel.
  • Possess FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or relevant UAS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of UAS hardware, software, and avionics systems.
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, adhering to all UAS-related regulations and best practices.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in various locations, as required for project assignments.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
