About This Job
We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team! As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work very closely as a bridge between engineering, infrastructure, & operations. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems and support data analysts. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals. To succeed in this position, you should have strong programming and analytical skills and be able to combine data from different sources. If you are detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and experience in this field, Dutchie is the place for you!
What You'll Do...
- Identify data needs for business and product teams, understand their specific requirements for metrics and analysis
- Design, develop, and own data pipelines & models in dbt that power internal analytics
- Develop and maintain the infrastructure required for a wide variety of data using SQL and AWS
- Optimize and maintain scripts on present data warehouses and present ETL
- Create data tools for analytics and data analysis team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product
- Continue to improve the performance and reliability of our data warehouse
- Orchestrate sophisticated data flow patterns across a variety of disparate tooling
- Build and enforce a pattern language across our data stack, ensuring that our event taxonomy and tables are consistent, accurate, and well-understood
What You Bring...
- 3+ years of professional experience designing, creating and maintaining scalable data pipelines on cloud infrastructure
- You can write clear and well documented code, preferably in Python, and are willing to become effective in others as needed to complete your objectives
- Advanced SQL skills with the understanding of how to write and tune complex queries
- Experience with MPP Data Warehouses, Postgres, and AWS Infrastructure
- Experience with transforming, developing data structures, metadata, dependency and data workflows to support an Analytics function
- Expertise in gathering data through multiple sources through API calls and scripting languages
It's a bonus if you...
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi,, CloudFormation)
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience with Snowflake or Redshift
- Experience with Orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, etc.)
Cash compensation range: $119,000 - $161,000 USD annually
