The Role
The Data Protection Analyst will assist in compliance and data protection reviews, assist in coordinating privacy projects, and work with our tech and product teams to align business operations performed to applicable laws. This role will work cross-functionally in partnership with other Outreach teams including Sales, Legal, Product, Engineering, and Information Security. Outreach Privacy works closely with the Outreach governance, risk, and compliance team to review policies and controls that integrate into a larger data protection and governance program.
The role requires that you have a basic understanding of current privacy regulations, working knowledge of databases and query skills, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously. In this role, you will collaborate across the company on programs that strengthen our security and privacy practices.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Identify and flag legal and privacy issues in existing product functionality and work with the appropriate teams across the company to address them
  • Identify and flag issues with compliance with privacy controls, gaps in performance, and remediation activities to address these risks
  • Coordinate with the control owners to ensure all relevant privacy controls are well-designed, effective, and periodically tested
  • Support global privacy initiatives to ensure Outreach products and processes appropriately protect our customer's data including data handling, acceptable use, and consent
  • Support the development of and execution of a comprehensive privacy governance and risk-based strategy by working with cross-functional partners across the organization
  • Support operational aspects of Outreach’s Privacy Program including 1) performing data collection or privacy impact assessments 2) participating in the privacy accreditation(s) and 3) providing reporting related to the privacy and data protection program operations
  • Support ongoing privacy monitoring and assurance efforts and manage breach notifications required by federal, state, and international law
  • Assist with the internal and external communications awareness strategy for the Outreach privacy program. Assist in creating collateral for the privacy awareness program

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Law, Computer Science, Business, or a related field

Nice to Have's

  • Database and data transformation skills. This includes experience with databases, pulling queries, understanding data schemas, and data flows
  • IAPP certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPT
  • Experience in collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with privacy management tools and software
The base salary range for this role is $81,000 - $90,000. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
