SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

SR. AVIATION INTEGRATION ENGINEER (STARLINK)

Starlink believes in providing fast, reliable internet to serve populations with little or no connectivity. We design, build, and launch the world's largest constellation of satellites in low earth orbit (LEO), enabling us to operate a global internet network unbounded by traditional ground infrastructure limitations. In addition to direct-to-consumer service, Starlink is also developing high-speed mobility solutions for commercial and private aircraft that will ultimately provide stellar connectivity experiences in-flight.

As a Sr. Integration Engineer on the Starlink Aviation team, you will be responsible for integrating Starlink products in a variety of airframes and mobile platforms. You will help solve aviation specific electrical and mechanical issues, running root cause investigations, and working with design, test and manufacturing teams to improve product quality. You will be intimately familiar with the design of the Starlink aviation product and will be expected to participate in every step of the aircraft integration process.

  • Responsible for prototype installs, flight tests, and fleet installs while taking extreme ownership of the outcome coordinating with various owners to ensure success
  • Efficiently work through issues as they arise and aggressively track down root cause, following through with corrective actions to eliminate reoccurrence
  • Prepare engineering documentation necessary for certification and install including installation manuals, ground/flight test plans, BOMs, and installation schedules
  • Assist in survey of aircraft to gather the necessary design data to develop airframe certifications of the Starlink aviation system
  • Develop the framework, processes, and resources necessary to scale the overall installation strategy to meet program objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, math, or physics discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role developing structural and/or electrical systems and processes

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience taking products/processes from development to production rate as part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience modeling with 3D CAD software such as: NX/Unigraphics, Catia, Solidworks
  • Passion passion for continuous improvement and building the best hardware and processes, with plenty of hands-on experience
  • Capable of solving complex problems with limited supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
