SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

As a Lead Recruiter, you will lead a team of talented recruiting professionals supporting our engineering teams. You will lead a team responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding top talent to fill mission critical positions. You will also work on a variety of roles along with the team. We work in teams and focus on collaboration yet require a high degree of autonomy. So, while you are not expected to simply go it alone, you are expected to show initiative, take responsibility, and run with tasks to completion.

  • Meet with client groups to discuss headcount, new requisitions, and hiring strategy
  • Partner with both team members and client groups to come up with solutions to solve hiring needs
  • Manage own req load: source, screen and make offers to candidates
  • Work on the toughest positions
  • Provide direction and guidance to team members to prioritize roles and help them meet their hiring metrics
  • Provide feedback (both critical and positive) to direct reports to help in their development
  • Hire other recruiters

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of recruiting experience or 5+ years of recruiting experience in lieu of degree
  • 1+ years of experience in a management capacity

  • 7+ years of experience as a technical recruiter
  • Experience providing guidance and coaching for other team members
  • Experience filling roles at all levels – senior engineers to management
  • Experience managing headcount and advising director and VPs
  • Success working with other recruiters outside immediate team
  • Strong project management experience, working across multiple business groups
  • Strong, positive working feedback from clients and peers
  • Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods: cold calling candidates and companies, organizing and executing ad hoc networking events, identifying industry experts and finding unique methods to engage with them, creating unique targeted sourcing campaigns, etc.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with hiring managers including director and VP level technical leaders
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both hiring managers and candidates
  • Ability to accurately present but not oversell candidates to client groups; influence decisions by acting as the subject matter expert on talent but avoid dictating client decisions
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with little direction while still being an active team member

  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Pay range:
Technical Recruiter/Lead: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
