SUPERVISOR, AVIONICS PRODUCTION – 2ND SHIFT
SpaceX is seeking an organized, creative, and driven supervisor to spearhead the manufacturing of avionics electromechanical assemblies. As a Production Supervisor, you will directly manage a large group of technicians while working closely with cross functional teams to achieve the common goal of safely manufacturing quality parts, in the most efficient methods possible, to allow for a reliable and timely integration of launch vehicles and spacecrafts needed to fulfill our extensive manifest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforce area standards and run rules, prioritizing safety and quality
- Effectively manage, coach, and mentor technicians, including writing bi-annual reviews and managing corrective or disciplinary actions
- Advance area safety, quality and production efficiency through continuous improvement projects and regular audits
- Interface with area leadership and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
- Proactively identify schedule risk, plan mitigation and coordinate efforts to minimize production interruptions
- Establish and analyze area metrics for trend extrapolation to drive the following:
- Personnel training and development
- Creation and implementation of efficiency improvement projects
- Optimization of product flow through the factory
- Root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans
- Identification and elimination of defects within the area value stream
- Reduction of downtime for product and personnel
- Review drawings and technical data packages for manufacturability, provide constructive feedback to engineering/design community
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/testing environment
- 1+ years of experience leading a team
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in avionics and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines
- 3+ years prior leadership experience leading teams, projects and/or people
- Demonstrated data-driven decision-making ability
- Experience with controlled documentation and processes such as: cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures, work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists
- Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight quality hardware
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and 5S techniques to the manufacturing floor
- Proficient experience utilizing MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs
- Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work 2nd shift hours: 2:30 PM – 1:30 AM
- Must be open to work all shifts, extended hours and/or weekends as needed
- Able to distinguish colors
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supervisor: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
